How to read this

• One index point compares the import unit value of a month, value divided by quantity, with the median month of 2024, which reads 100.
• A month with no trade, or with trade under 100 kg, carries no value; the chart leaves a gap and names the reason. The current year stays provisional until e-Stat marks its files Revised or Fixed.
• The index is not real time and not an offer price.

Observation

One month of Japan imports of statistical code 0410.90-300 “Raw propolis”: quantity in kilograms and value in thousand yen.

Unit value

Value times 1,000 divided by quantity, in yen per kilogram. It is an import value of one country: not a world price, a producer price, or a quotation.

Eligible month

A month with 100 kg or more.

Excluded month

A month with no trade stays in the series with the reason “no trade”. A month with some trade below 100 kg stays in the series with the reason “below minimum quantity”. Neither carries an index value.

Base

The median unit value of the eligible months of 2024. The base year reads 2024 = 100.

Provisional

A month from a file that e-Stat does not label “Revised” or “Fixed” is provisional.

Series start

Japan created code 0410.90-300 in 2023. The series starts in January 2023.
