Honey Index
US bulk honey quotations from the USDA AMS National Honey Report, as a monthly index with 2024 = 100.
Honey quote index
How to read this
- One index point compares the median domestic quotation of a month with the median month of 2024, which reads 100.
- A month with fewer than 10 domestic quotation lines, no domestic lines, or no USDA report carries no value; the chart leaves a gap and names the reason.
- The index is not real time and not an offer price.
Filtered average price
Monthly average of accepted USDA AMS bulk honey quotations, in US dollars per pound, by market, certification, region, and variety. It is a quotation average, not the index.

- Observation
- One AMS domestic quotation line. The price of a line is the midpoint of its low and high price.
- Eligible month
- A month with 10 or more domestic quotation lines.
- Price of a month
- The median of the line midpoints of the month, in US dollars per pound.
- Base
- The median of the monthly medians of 2024. The base year reads 2024 = 100.
- Count
- The number of domestic quotation lines of the month.
- Excluded month
- A month with 1 to 9 domestic lines stays in the series with the reason “too few quotations” and no index value. A month with no domestic lines has the reason “no domestic quotations”. A month with no AMS report has the reason “no report”.
